Nutritional Medicine

Nutritional medicine, also called metabolic pharmacology, is based on the premise that nature makes better pharmaceuticals than the lab of man can ever make. Food, air and water contain essential nutrients and an adequate intake of healthy food is the beginning of nutritional health.

Most diseases are associated with or the result of nutritional imbalance or under nutrition. Therefore, optimizing your diet is an essential component in maintaining good health, preventing disease and promoting longevity. However, it is not always possible to obtain adequate nutrition solely from food. Supplemental vitamins and minerals are often needed to assure proper metabolic function of every cell in our body.

Therapeutic nutrition utilizes a combination of specific individualized dietary recommendations plus supplemental oral nutrients (vitamins, minerals, enzymes) to optimize health or treat specific diseases. Therapeutic nutrition can be used alone or as an adjunctive therapy along with other modalities for the treatment of many chronic diseases, including cancer.
